Open the app, tap New habit, give it a name, pick a color and the days of the week it should run, then choose one starter song. That's it — your first session is ready to play.
Three sources: 14 bundled tracks across chill beats, workout, and meditation moods (no subscription, fully offline); Apple Music (subscription required); and any local audio files you've added to your iPhone.
No. The 14 bundled tracks and your local files work without one. Apple Music just unlocks the full catalog as an additional source.
After every session, you rate it. Tap Too easy and the app sends you to the song picker so you can add a new track to that habit. Tap Just right and the playlist stays the same. Tap Too much to pick a song to remove. The habit calibrates to you over time.
Nothing burns down. Pick up where you left off — your playlist is still there, exactly as you left it. We don't do streak shame.
Yes. Open the habit's detail screen and remove or replace any track. You can also rate a session as "too much" and pick the track to remove.
When your earned playlist finishes, the app asks if you want to continue. Tap yes and it shuffles tracks from a playlist you've chosen — bundled categories, an Apple Music playlist, or your local files. It loops indefinitely until you tap Finish Session.

Yes. The Live Activity shows the current track and time, and the pause button works from the lock screen and Dynamic Island. Skipping is intentionally disabled for Apple Music tracks to keep sessions intact.
iOS 17.6 or later.
You need an active Apple Music subscription on the same Apple ID, and the app needs media access. Open Settings → One Song Habits → Media & Apple Music and make sure it's enabled. Apple Music playback also requires a real device — the iOS Simulator can search but can't play catalog tracks.

Open the app — orphaned activities are cleaned up on launch. The app intentionally keeps a 10-minute window after a completed session so you can rate it from the lock screen. After that, it dismisses on its own.
That's the "keep going" mode — extra-time playlists loop indefinitely so you can decide when to stop. Tap Finish Session to end it.
